Welcome
Welcome to Art...Well-Groomed 2008, a unique collaboration of business, art, community and philanthropy! In July, 2008, an exciting and unusual public art exhibit will come to Princeton, Illinois when Friends of Strays, Inc. opens Art...Well-Groomed 2008, a novel "open-air" gallery that will showcase large sculptures of dogs and cats, painted and embellished by talented artists. Similar to Chicago's "Cows on Parade," the colorful and imaginative Art, on a grand scale, will be displayed outdoors in the Princeton downtown area for 10 weeks.
Businesses, organizations and individuals can support the Arts and garner media attention by sponsoring a sculpture at any of the three sponsorship/marketing levels. The Art will be publicly unveiled at the Art...Well-Groomed 2008 Parade, at which time, each finished sculpture will be placed in the downtown area.
Art...Well-Groomed 2008 will be promoted as a tourist destination via extensive publicity, advertising, media tie-ins, and collateral materials. In addition to the Art itself, Art...Well-Groomed 2008 will include a number of mini-events to keep the idea fresh for folks living in the Princeton area. "Destination marketing" and community involvement will mean not only increased visibility for sponsors, but also increased foot traffic for area retailers.
When the exhibition closes, the Art will be auctioned for the benefit of Friends of Strays, Inc. with proceeds to be used to aid in the development of the Shelter's low-cost spay/neuter clinic serving low income families and seniors. This is a very essential first step in responsible pet-ownership, and is a proactive approach that serves pets, pet-owners and the community.
We are excited about Art...Well-Groomed 2008 and the many ways it will benefit the Princeton area. We invite artists, businesses, organizations, and individuals to join us.
